Marcus is a 1.83 meter (last measurement) male leatherback turtle that can get even bigger! He sails in US waters from Florida to Nova Scotia, depending on the season.It is an ideal spawning ground for leatherback turtles and is also home to many great white sharks (which will not attack giant turtles like Marcus ) and is an abundant feeding ground. Marcus can cover very large distances in a relatively short time and is one of the most endangered sea turtle species.By following it, we can better understand its migratory decisions and the impact of global warming on its habitat.
